Steel Gazebos

At Smith Steelworks, we are all about steel. And why shouldn’t we? Our hot tub steel gazebos are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions without succumbing to rust and corrosion. These backyard structures will last for years to come. We design it that way. Undoubtedly wood will only last so long before weathering becomes an issue. Smith Steelworks designs gazebos that will last a lifetime.

Our Weatherproof Process

To keep the gazebos clear of contaminates and corrosion, the metal is placed through a three-step powder coating process.

Sandblast

First, we sandblast to clean and prepare the metal. We sandblast the bare metal down to a white finish. Doing this prepares the metal for powder coating by removing old paint, rust, and oil spots. Sandblasting also creates a profile (similar to sanding) which helps the primer adhere.

Prime

Second, an epoxy primer is applied to the metal gazebo. Once the metal has been fully coated it is cured at 400 degrees. This sinks the primer deep into the metal. Lastly, powder coat is applied through an electrostatic spray gun and again cured at 400 degrees. After the finish has dried, the metal will be smooth to touch and resistant to chips, scratches, rust, and corrosion.

Powder Coat

Lastly, powder coat is applied through an electrostatic spray gun and again cured at 400 degrees. After the finish has dried, the metal will be smooth to touch and resistant to chips, scratches, rust, and corrosion.
